  • Skagen II 1963. Route: Lysekil-Skagen Passenger story: // It was 50 years ago since our first trip to Denmark with Stena. Our car was the first car shipped over to Skagen according to the crew on board. We were all nervous, we and the crew, since we were boardning on so called U-beams or U-irons. In Skagen the rain was pouring down so our car started to slide down. Today they are great memories.// The image is scanned 2013-09-11

  • 1963-68 - Skagen II came to be Stena Line's first own passenger ship. The ship of 878 gross tons was built in 1924 at Oskarshamn Mekaniska Verkstad and was first called the Visby. She was bought in 1963 for SEK 105 000, and was then converted at the Götaverken Shipyard in Gothenburg when she also changed name ti Skagen II. Her first trip was July 17, 1963 for the Lysekil-Skagen route. Skagen II was scrapped in Ystad in 1968. NOTICE! This images is digitalized by scanning for the historical arch
